Australian Youth Orchestra String Quartet
Mallesons Stephen Jaques
Charming String Quartet performance in beautiful venue.
This is a rare opportunity to hear string quartet music, played by some of Australia's rising stars, the way the composers intended - in an intimate setting with a beautiful acoustic and all for free.
In the delightful surroundings of Christ Church Lutheran, Murray Bridge, the Australian Youth Orchestra String Quartet will perform Haydn's G major string quartet Op 77, early romantic works by Webern and selections from Dvorak's Cypresses Op 106 in a 90 minute program.
As part of the AYO's regional residency program, top AYO musicians are selected to form a string quartet and participate in a period of intensive tuition under the guidance of prominent Australian violinist Natsuko Yoshimoto, who Murray Bridge audiences heard play during Twilight Symphony on 20 March. The Quartet will also be working with music students from Unity College during the day.
