National Youth Week


An Australian State, Territory and Local Government Initiative



National Youth Week is the largest celebration of young people in Australia. Thousands of young people aged 12-25 all across Australia get involved each year.

National Youth Week aims to encourage young people to share ideas, attend live events, have their voices heard on issues of concern to them, showcase their talents, celebrate their contribution to the community, take part in competitions, and have fun!


Skate Park Jam

Come and have a ride, skate or scoot at the Murray Bridge Skate Park. Music, food and entertainment.

Price:    FREE
Date/ Time: Saturday 10 April, 6-9pm
Venue: Sturt Reserve
Age: 12-25 years of age


Live it Now Youth Art Exhibition


An opportunity for Murraylands youth aged 12-25 to express themselves through art. Artwork can be entered into six different categories with a theme of LIVE IT  NOW and prizes will be awarded at the closing ceremony.
All ages welcome to view the art work. The closing and awards ceremony will include entertainment and nibbles.

Price:    FREE
Date/ Time: Monday 12 April – Thursday 15 April, 4pm – 7pm
Venue: The Station Youth Centre
Closing Ceremony and Awards Night:
Thursday 15 April from 7pm


Battle of the Bands


Presented by the Rural City of Murray Bridge Action Committee, NYW Battle of the Bands has been successfully running in Murray Bridge for some years.  It’s an opportunity for young budding musicians and their bands to play alongside a headline act and compete against each other for a great prize! It’s also gives youth aged 12-25 a reason for a great night out!

Price:    FREE
Date/ Time: Saturday 17 April, from 6pm
Venue: Basketball Stadium
Closing Ceremony and Awards Night: Thursday 15 April from 7pm
