The Swap

Carclew Youth Arts and Country Arts SA

Want to learn how the music events industry works? Got a band that’s ready for gigs?  The Swap may be just for you!

The Swap is a Carclew Youth Arts project for bands and event coordinators aged 26 and under from the Murraylands who seek industry skills and professional performance experience.

Emerging event coordinators will pull together two events: one in Adelaide, one in Murray Bridge. These will be programmed with bands from both areas (hence The Swap). Participants will learn the tricks of the trade from industry professionals and gain experience in stage management, sound engineering, booking bands and much more.

Bands selected to play The Swap gigs will gain skills to support their ongoing musical career. These include creating press kits, marketing and promotions, band photography, recording and getting better gigs.  Bands will also have the chance to network with music support organisations and develop key music industry contacts.

Event coordinators and bands participating in The Swap will have the opportunity to attend the Louder Than Words - Music Business Conference and the opportunity to event coordinate or perform as part of the Louder Than Words – Music Festival if selected.
